On July 17, 2020, the US Department of Labor (DOL) released new forms for use under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA).

Does FMLA use calendar year?

FMLA regulations state that an employee is entitled to 12 weeks of leave in a 12-month period. Employers often assume that the 12-month period is a calendar year. However, employers are given four options from which to choose. A “rolling” 12-month period measured backward from the date an employee uses any FMLA leave.
